Online Early Childhood Education Courses

The undergraduate early childhood education PreK-K Program in the Department of Child and Family Studies is designed to prepare students to obtain the Tennessee Early Development and Learning PK-K teacher license and Bachelor of Science degree in order to teach children with and without disabilities, birth through age five. The PreK–K courses emphasize studying child development in context and developing fundamental instructional strategies within authentic field experiences in your local communities. Courses begin Fall 2021, with applications to UTK due by July 1st, 2021.

Who should apply?

  • Currently, we are enrolling students with associate degrees and/or 60 transferrable credits
  • Practicing early childhood educators highly encouraged to apply

  • Distance learning dual licensure program that is built on flexibility for individualized learning needs
  • Complete coursework online led by high-quality instructors in the UTK Department of Child and Family Studies
  • Courses offered continuously across fall, spring, and summer semesters
  • Take courses part-time or full-time
