Sexual Assault Awareness Week

Picture1

The Center for Health Education and Wellness is dedicated to a community that is embodied in the “VOLS HELP VOLS” commitment. We are all Volunteers; we look out for each other.
As we begin Sexual Assault Awareness month this April, we are asking all Volunteers to pledge, reach out, and speak up about this important issue. We hope you will join us throughout the next month for a series of events dedicated to raising awareness of sexual assault on our campus.

Hike the Hill in Heels

Wednesday, April 1, 4:00 p.m. at the Torchbearer
Have you registered for Hike the Hill in Heels? It’s not too late! Help us kick off the month’s activities by joining our hike to raise awareness about
sexual assault. Everyone is encouraged to put on a pair of heels and hike from the Torchbearer to Ayres Hall. The event is open to anyone who
wants to participate—individually, as part of a team, or as a donor to a participant. The entry fee is $10 for individuals or $8 for team members (minimum team of four). Participants who register in advance will receive a T-shirt. All
proceeds will benefit the Helen Ross McNabb Sexual Assault Center of East Tennessee. Register online

Become a Speakologist

Wednesdays, April 8, 15, and 22, 5:00–6:30 p.m. in Hodges Library Room 253
Commit to becoming an active bystander and learn to speak up for your friends, fellow students, and others. Free pizza and T-shirts.

“Define Consent” poster competition

Wednesday, April 29, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. on the Pedestrian Bridge
We want UT students to help define what consent is and is not. Help us start the conversation—stop by the Pedestrian Bridge and write your own
definitions on posters that will be displayed along the bridge.
