Topics Covered: Sexual anatomy and response, contraception and sexually transmitted infections, sexual behaviors, committed and casual sex, gender, and sexual orientation, to name a few.

Dynamics of family interactions and influences of diversity, including parent-child relations, development of parenting skills, and intrafamily verbal and nonverbal communication processes, patterns, and problems.

Examine stressors that individuals and families may encounter across the lifespan and how resources and contexts impact the management of these stressors.

The course is guided by an intersectional lens to understand how our identities (e.g., gender, race, SES) interact to create advantages and disadvantages that are often magnified during stress or crisis.
