The Graduate Student Organization is a student-goverened organization that represents the graduate student body in the Department of Child and Family Studies. GSO acts as a liaison between the student body and faculty, builds camaraderie between graduate students, organizes many professional development opportunities, and implements plans to better suit the needs of CFS graduate students.
The Council on Family Relations at the University of Tennessee was recently reintroduced by the Department of Child and Family Studies in fall 2011. This organization, which is a student-governed affiliate of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), hopes to promote the professional development of its members through a number of avenues. Briefly, our goals include: 1) building mentorship between undergraduate and graduate CFRUT members, 2) providing connections within the UT community through partnering with departments outside of CFS, and 3) establishing outreach and service opportunities for CFRUT members to become involved with community agencies and organizations.
