The University of Tennessee provides professional liability coverage for student professionals. In order to obtain this coverage, students must pay the Student Professional Liability fee of $10.
CFS Students who are enrolled in Early Childhood Education courses, such as CFS 350 or CFS 470, must obtain a special form of liability insurance for Educators through the National Educators Association (NEA). Your course instructors will provide you information about this process during your course. If you have any questions, please contact your instructor or the Practicum Coordinator, Melinda Roberts.
Students enrolled in a CFS 480 Community Outreach Practicum, or CFS human subjects research will see the $10 charge on their MyUTK account prior to the first day of classes. This charge will cover student liability for one full calendar year (June 1 – May 31).
This policy has the following coverage and limits:
- Professional Liability
- $1,000,000 per occurrence
- $6,000,000 aggregate
- General Liability
- $1,000,000 per occurrence
- $6,000,000 aggregate
